2023 New Sealed Allen Bradley 2198-P031 A Kinetix 5700 DC Bus Power Supply

A DC-bus power source made by Allen-Bradley, the 2198-P031 is made for the Kinetix 5700 servo drive. It takes in three-phase AC voltages of 324-528V (480V standard) and has a frequency range of 47–63 Hz. 

Width and primary current:

The module’s width is 55 mm, and its primary AC input current is 11.2 A. Its max inrush current is 33 A (0-peak), and its peak AC input current is 33.4 A. The continuous output current-to-bus is 10.5A, and the peak output current-to-bus is 31.6A. The constant power-to-bus output is 7 kW, and the peak power-to-bus is 21 kW.

internal capacitance:

The 2198-P031 is 99% efficient, has an internal capacitance of 585μF, and can absorb 129 J of capacitive energy. It’s 9.55 pounds and is easy to assemble and put in the drive. Up to three 2198-P031 power source modules can be connected to a single Kinetix 5700 drive. More modules can be added to boost the power going to the drive’s single- and dual-axis converters.

• Through the EtherNet/IP network, the drive has a motion and safety feature. It makes it perfect for use in big machines. It is used in many fields because of its high-performance motor control and short integration time. For example, it makes drinks, baby machines, bag machines, tyre-building machines and tray loaders.
• Along with DC-bus end caps, the 2198-P031 parts have wire plug connector sets for mains input (IPD) and 24 Volts DC control input power (CP), individual inputs (IOD), shunt power (RC), and contactor enable (CED). RC is written on a wire plug connection used for surge power.
• The 2198-P031 can be mounted directly on a panel, but mounting gaps must be met to ensure airflow and the workroom. Additionally, it allows zero stacking, which lets users set up shared bus links with more than one 2198-P031 sitting next to each other.
